Buzz Charts

Hi Guys. I’v decided to post a weekly chart section called the Buzz Charts. I’ll still be posting my “Gold Retrospective” chart each week, which is the main insight into what rocks my world at the moment. This other chart section will hopefully give you guys an accurate insight into what is big in all areas of dance. The Buzz top 20 is collated by searching through all the promos and new releases I buy and receive. It will also contain my “Buzz Selektion”, the track which has received the most play & support by fellow dj’s worldwide. Each week, I will also pick 5 of the best from the aria club chart. Last but not least, I’ll post a hip hop top 5 just for the sake of all you hip hop freaks who may visit HSR. Well, here they are, and you rock!.

Gulchard & Fonda!

It's time for me to introduce you to my production alius. It is Gulchard & Fonda. Yeah, strange name, but rather simplistic in it's creation. I listen to a great deal of crime radio. One particular case caught my attention. In this case, the murder victim had the last name of "Gulchard". As for fonda, well, I kind of just made it up.

I've just finished my first EP under G&F, called "Gallion".

The title track, Gallion, is a dance odyssey. It begins as a simplistic, but funky house groove with plenty of growl and distruction behind it. It comes with a heavy driving bassline, and a repetitive synth line through the first half of the track. A Pryda like breakdown in the middle of the track gives it an uplifting approach. The track ends on a high, with all elements in full effect.

The second track, Galliard Otto Gilligan, got it's name in a much stranger fassion. A galliard is an old fassioned Celtic dance. The Name Otto was used to the track's German Tech influence. Well, Gilligan comes from the fact that this track is a bit geeky and a little weird.

Well, there you have it. Gulchard & Fonda. I hope to have audio clips of these tracks up soon, for your listening pleasure.

It's time to go underground and Work That!

You may have noticed that, of late, that Thomas Gold's style has had a significant makeover. I cannot deny, Thomas Gold is a house genious. I've played his stuff as far back as I can remember, therefore, it's always been in my crate (or what I had of one, if you call a pile of records and cds under my arm a crate). Gold returns yet again for another stomping underground release, this time a two-tracker called "Kananga and Work that". This sound is not entirely new for Thomas, or Frank Knebel to his goldies (excuse the pun), as it was heard on his release "The Button" of earlier this year. This "gold" is set to do the business on tech floors worldwide. The fact that it's signed to Toolroom gives it an immediate booster, as Mark Knight can't do no wrong right now. On a personal level, I've seen Thomas Gold give extremely positive feedback on a number of Aussie releases over the last few weeks. Therefore, let's get behind this Australia!. Check him out at,

Summer Summer Summer!

It is a common occurance to stumble across a summery track in the middle of winter. Well, this one is rockin my world right now. It comes from Starchaser, with their new single "So Good". I won't beat around the bush, the new single from Bart B More is a smash. I've supported his stuff for a few years now. From his remix of Sandy Rivera's Freak, to his cover of CeCe Peniston's finally, this guy knows his way arround a track.
